Bell times
Our school day
Our school day is carefully structured around a clear and consistent timetable that sets specific times for learning sessions, activities, and breaks. Students may arrive at school anytime between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. This arrival window provides families flexibility while ensuring students have enough time to settle in before lessons begin.
Dismissal takes place between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm, marking the end of the school day and allowing students time to prepare for a safe departure.
For daily drop-off and pick-up, our students arrive via the Assisted School Transport Program (ASTP) or are brought to school by their parents or carers. To maintain safety and accountability, students do not leave the school grounds by other means during these times.
Please note that for school excursions, students may leave the school with dedicated staff members who are authorised and have obtained prior permission from families. These supervised departures follow strict safety and permission protocols.
Arriving on time each day is very important. Prompt arrival ensures your child does not miss essential instructions or the beginning of lessons, helping them settle smoothly and start learning alongside their peers.
If your child is running late, please contact the front office so staff are aware and can support your child upon arrival.
For late arrivals or early departures, parents or carers should wait at the front gate and call (02) 9709 4661 (then dial 0 when prompted). A staff member will meet your child at the gate or escort them to you if picking them up early. This procedure ensures that all students are safely supervised when arriving or leaving outside regular times. You will be asked to provide a reason for the late arrival or early departure to assist with accurate attendance records and student safety.
The importance of school attendance
Regular attendance is vital for your child’s learning, development, and future success. When students attend regularly, they can:
- Fully engage with lessons, group work, and hands-on activities
- Build positive, supportive relationships with teachers and peers
- Establish consistent routines and develop organisational skills
- Achieve their best academic potential by not missing critical instructions or assessments
If your child is unable to attend school, please notify us as soon as possible. The preferred method for reporting absences is through School Bytes, our secure online communication platform. Using School Bytes allows you to:
- Quickly and easily provide reasons for absence anytime and from any device
- Help staff promptly and accurately record attendance
- Support timely follow-up and assistance customised to your child’s needs
Promptly notifying the school via School Bytes helps us maintain safety, track attendance accurately, and assist your child’s learning continuity. While phone or email notifications are also accepted, we strongly encourage all families to use School Bytes for efficient communication.
Our staff are committed to working closely with families to support regular attendance and address any issues together, ensuring all students benefit from a safe, supportive, and high-quality education.

School Day Transitions – Late Arrivals and Early Departures
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during school day transitions, any variation to your child’s usual arrival or departure routine must be communicated in advance through the front office, Seesaw, and/or the student communication diary.
Please note that there are designated times during the school day when student collection or late arrival is not possible due to supervision and safety requirements. These times coincide with busy periods when staff are engaged in supervising transitions, breaks, or classes, making it challenging to support individual student departures safely.
Please avoid collecting or dropping off your child during the following times:
- 10:55am to 11:30am
- 12:55pm to 1:45pm
- From 2:15pm until 2:30pm (Note: Afternoon pick-up at the front gate begins at 2:30pm as per usual procedures)
We ask that you plan to drop off and collect your child outside of these times to minimise disruptions and maintain a safe, supportive environment for all students.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to student safety and for supporting our school community. Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding drop-off and pick-up procedures, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Need help with attendance?
School attendance is linked to School Bytes. When a student is absent or has a partial absence, an email will be sent, and parents will need to respond via the School Bytes Parent Portal. Please provide a doctor's certificate if your child's absence exceeds two days.
If you have questions about arrival times or absences, please contact us.
