At our school we believe that in order to learn, students have a number of rights that must be respected. Similarly, they have a number of responsibilities to themselves and others.
Effective welfare, social skills and discipline programs
Other students have the right to:
- Be and feel safe
- Learn without interruption
- Be treated with respect and fairness
- Communicate and be listened to
- Use and share the equipment available at our school
- Learn and play in a clean, safe and healthy environment
Our students have the responsibility to:

- Learn, and allow others to learn, without interruption

- Listen to others and respect their opinions
- Use, look after, and share school materials appropriately
- Respect and care for the school and its environment
To instil these values in our students we have:
- A positive learning environment
- Appropriate teaching methods
- Caring and consistent staff
- Effective use of positive teaching strategies
- Liaison with parents
- Clearly defined rules and consequences
At Caroline Chisholm School we believe that our social skills programs will allow your child to build positive relationships.
In addition to an effective school Welfare policy, we specifically teach the students a variety of strategies that are essential for them to be able to relate to others appropriately.
In the area of Child Protection, students are taught how to recognise their own feelings, who they can trust, how to act appropriately assertive and ways to keep themselves safe.
The School's Discipline policy provides opportunities for students to be positively reinforced for their achievements. The school has a merit award system where students collect class awards, merit awards and Principal's awards.
